YOUNG PEOPLE OF COLOR LEAD
CALIFORNIANS TO THE POLLS
On June 5th, millions of voters across California walked into the polls to cast their ballots in the California primaries. And Power California partners were at the heart of a massive contact effort β educating and mobilizing voters every step of the way.
Starting in early May, we launched a statewide voter contact campaign alongside 18 network partner organizations. Over 350 young leaders of color within these organizations connected with thousands of voters via phone and text.
The resulting impact from those efforts was incredible:
- Talked to 43,259 voters about the issues impacting our communities
- Moved 30,486 voters to support our safe schools & communities agenda and commit to voting with us on June 5th
- Supported and mobilized 27,354 voters via text. Provided one-to-one support to get them out to the polls on election day
As we move toward the November elections, we are energized and extremely excited to stand with these young leaders of color as they continue mobilizing and engaging voters around the issues that impact all of us.
