Danny Espinoza

Danny is a Mexican-American Bay Area native Community Organizer and Strategist born in Oakland, California. Currently, they are the National Campaign Strategist for Sheriff Accountability Action and Safety Bound, a project to reimagine the role of the Sheriff. Growing up in the Bay Area, Danny has developed the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Their work in organizing, advocacy, and electoral campaigns has enabled them to collaborate with diverse groups, including labor, faith, philanthropy, and elected leaders. With eight years of experience in non-profits, philanthropy, government relations, and public policy, Danny is dedicated to making a positive impact and driving meaningful change and is passionate about finding common ground, keeping impacted communities at the heart of the work, and crafting strategies for successful campaigns focused on racial and economic equity.

Previously, Danny worked as Campaign Director for Lift Up Contra Costa and Monument Impact. He was part of the first Emerging Leaders of Color fellowship cohort hosted by Leaderspring, where he was awarded the 2022 game-changer award. He participated in the Emerging Leaders fellowship by Leadership for Democracy and Social Justice hosted by the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, and he is currently one of six national fellows for the Western States Center’s Defending Democracy fellowship.
